Paragon Cattle is owned and operated by Amanda and her husband, Dawson Woodson. They are dedicated to ensuring that every animal under their care receives the best possible treatment. Their primary focus is on customer service and animal husbandry, creating a welcoming and nurturing environment for their clients.

Amanda and her family live on the premises, providing 24/7 monitoring and care for the animals. Owners can rest easy knowing that their animals are always under close observation.

Donor Management

We believe great results start with the basics: good feed and a stress-free environment. Donors are being asked to do more than nature intended, so the right nutrition is key to helping them rise to the challenge. We focus on balanced diets instead of hormone shortcuts, giving your cows the foundation they need to stay healthy and productive for years to come.

Our facility is designed for long-term donor care. Many of our cows live with us year-round, and we take care of it all — flushing, breeding, calving, and starting the cycle again. Every donor is kept current on vaccinations, worming, and any extra care they may need, just like they would be at home.

We also make sure our donors have room to relax. They aren’t locked in pens — they’re turned out in large paddocks where they can rest and recharge. Older cows or those with gentler temperaments are always kept with like-minded companions, so no one gets pushed around. Our goal is to provide a comfortable, safe place where every donor can thrive.
Services We Provide

Wean Calf Program

What is a “Weaned Calf Program”?

  1. At our Clutier, Iowa facility, we receive your embryos and transfer them into our recipient cows. This process is carried out by a licensed DVM.
  2. Our recipient cows receive top-notch care and are exclusively fed with feed that we grow and harvest ourselves to ensure the highest quality.
  3. All calves are born in a climate-controlled environment and receive creep feed from birth until they're ready to leave.
  4. After a two-week weaning period, you can pick up your calves either in Iowa or at our Donor Facility in Cisco, Texas.
  5. Our calves are fully vaccinated, wormed, and given multi-min at weaning. In addition, our heifers receive BANGS vaccination, guaranteeing that calves can come home and go to work.
  6. We want to build long-lasting relationships. This is why our program guarantees your transfer spots for 5 years.
